Is Cornerspin for YOU?

TRAINING FOR THE UNEXPECTED by Aaron Stevenson

No one leaves their garage on Saturday morning saying to themselves, “Today, I’m going to practice sliding the front tire through all the turns today”. If anything the thoughts are just the opposite, “God I hope I don’t lose the front end today.” Abrupt and sudden changes in traction are scary for just about anyone including the top level pros, that’s why, ALL riders that want to learn “control” practice on small bikes in environments that will let them experiment with traction and control with little to no consequence. Practicing “the limit” on a 400lb. superbike has a huge price tag on it both for the bike and for your body. This is why 100cc dirtbikes have long been the chosen tool for sharpening the skills for riders that want to learn how to deal with the unexpected.

What is Cornerspin? Cornerspin is a school for everyone. A school that allows you to find the limits of traction, go beyond the limits of traction, feel what it’s like to lose control of the bike and LEARN how to regain control! We teach you how to remain neutral on the bike when it’s sliding. We teach you how to trail brake beyond the limits of traction and how to recover when the front tire begins to slide. Try practicing that on your $10,000 street bike and you’ll see how much it’s going to hurt your wallet and your butt. What we teach is considered a secret, or what we should say is that “it’s the best kept secret to people outside the racing industry.”  30 years ago, Kenny Roberts Sr. trained his racers on 100cc dirtbikes. Guys like Wayne Rainey and Eddie Lawson. Yup, buzzing around on 7hp dirtbikes. Why? Because it goes right back to what I was saying earlier about consequence and being able to try new things without the high price of injury to body and equipment. “The limit is the limit”. No matter whether you are riding a 170hp superbike or a 7hp dirtbike, the limit of traction is still the limit, the limit of control is still the limit, the limit of your abilities is still the limit. This is why you do a school like this.

Whether you street ride, trail ride, dual-sport ride, do track days, road race or cruise around on a chopper, what you learn at Cornerspin will transfer to ALL disciplines that will improve your riding and your ability to control a motorcycle. . . especially in the those circumstances when you least expect it. You will learn to “listen” to the bike as it tells you what is happening before it’s too late to correct the changes. By anticipating and being aware of what the bike is telling you, you are more ready for the unexpected. So yes, you are “training for the unexpected”. . . and that’s just one part. There’s more that we cover: traction control with the throttle, chassis weighting, weight bias control, steering with the throttle and much more.

Take your riding to a whole new level. Sign up for Cornerspin today!
